What is Pigmentation? Pigmentation, Lentignes, Age-Spots, Freckles, Cafe au Lait and Birthmarks - are all descriptions of a concentration of colour of pigment cells in the skin. How does the Laser work with Pigmentation? The Laser Beam absorbs the Melanin present in the Pigment Cells, breaking them down resulting in a Lighter, Paler Skintone, which will blend naturally into the surrounding area. The surrounding skin will not be affected. How many treatments will I need? Usually between 2-6 treatments are required, one treatment every 2 weeks. What happens during the treatment? The area to be treated is assessed by the Laser Consultant and protective eyewear is given to the client to wear. The Laser is then applied to the area to be treated, gently sitting on the skin and the beam is delivered. The area may appear reddened for around 20 minutes post treatment.
